This has been a busy and crazy week in Third grade. Between it being a short week, taking Spring pictures and a trip to Fort Smith it has been a little wild. We have been working on measurement in math and started a unit on Oklahoma in Social Studies. We went to Fort Smith yesterday to see a production of "Wizard of Oz." The students loved it and then had lots of good pizza at Cici's. The trip was finished off with a visit to Ben Geren park. Remember that next week is Spring break. …

This week in third grade we took our Acuity Benchmark test. This is a test designed to see what our students have learned so far this year and what they still need to learn. We also started a unit on measurement. This will last next week also. We are working on time, volume, length, and mass. We have also started doing daily reviews to get ready for our OCCT tests. This has been a good first week back after our long break. It was good to see all the smiling faces back. We have continued to work on division this week by finishing up chapter 6 in our math books. We have seen how it relates to subtraction and is the inverse operation of multiplication. I have been really pleased with the student's progress on this topic. Wow! We are up to our eyeballs in multiplication. We are moving fast and furious in the area of multiplication. Students have been busy learning the commutative property, associative property, identity property, distributive property and zero property of multiplication as well as learning facts from 0 to 10. They have been learning many different techniques for learning their multiplication facts and working the problems out. Students need to be busy studying their multiplication facts…
