TDyer Agriculture--Jan. 11
On Monday each class had to write 5 paragraph's about their christmas break. My First hour class had to show proof of an expert that they have contacted about their topic. The welding students started projects and welded beads on their plates. The freshmen began learning how to do record books. Finally, the 8th grade students started learning shop safety.See More

1rst hour critiqued each others speech progress. The welding students worked on building a cattle guard and cutting plates. The 8th graders finished their projects. The animal science students started english cattle breeds, and finally, the Ag. 1 students finished the first 4 paragraphs of the creed.See More

The Ag. Comm class had to write a report with data included on why their topic is relevant. The welding class ran flat beads on their plates.The 8th graders are working on finding something involved in ag. and writing a report and talking to the class about it. the Ag. 1 students finished the greenhand work and studied for the final test on Monday of next week.See More

The first hour class continued working on researching topics. Each student had to tell the class what they are finding and how they feel about their topic several times during the week. The students in second hour are welding beads on their plates. The 8th graders worked on openeing ceremonies and had two days of TGFD. On tuesday a rep. from Wyo-tech spoke with the students about careers in general and opportunities at his school. On Wednesday the students attended the Arkansas/Ok FFA day at Ft. Smith. The Welding students started in the shop and worked with the cutting torch.See More

TDyer Agriculture--Sept.17-20
In speech class the students continued researching topics. I helped with ideas and showed them good websites and some video's. At the end of each period they had to stand up and tell the class what they found and what they think about what they found. The welding kids took the safety/knowledge test. My 8th graders worked on ceremonies, and memorized the unison part. The ag 1 students took a test on the green-hand material covered so far.See More

In Ag. Comm. I showed videos and websites that deal with agriculture topics. Each student is picking a topic for their competitive speech. We also discussed and wrote over the topics. The welding class continued to learn shop safety and also were taught about the different welding polarities, and what the numbers on electrodes represent, and also welding situations. We attended the P.I. level speech contest and 7 students made it to regionals with their speech. The welding class students are working on projects. The 8th graders are memorizing their parli-pro parts, and my Ag.1 and Animal Science classes are learning about the different cattle breeds in the U.S.See More

On Monday and Tuesday the first hour students worked on their speech and livestock judging. The welding students worked on their plates or projects. The other classes continued powerpoint lessons. I was absent on Wed. through Friday, as well as several students because of the county livestock show. I left work on these days with the substitute. See More

The 8th graders are learning about cattle and where certain meat cuts come from and skeletal design. Ag. Comm- The students worked on shirt designs and continued working on speeches. My welding students are welding on their plates. They are progressing very well and a few are on uphill vertical welds. The 8th graders are working on cattle parts and correlations in animals such as bone sizes relationship with growing ability. The Freshmen started learning how to do record books and each one downloaded a record book of their own from the state website.See More

My students doing record books completed them this week and I turned them in to the state. The Ag. 1 class had to speak the entire creed and use hand movements and face gestures correctly. The other classes worked on classwork.See More
