Woodward Art April 8-12, 2013

Art II- Students learned about concept art. It is art made specifically for film, animation or video games. I gave a presentation. Students may paint this type of art or create it with Mine Craft. Art I- Students drew a scene with a focal point.  Students also illustrated an optical illusion.Middle School Art- Students continued to work on the Medieval Project. Woodward Art April 1-5, 2013

Art II- Students finished the Surrealism painting.  Students also gave their first graded critique.Art I- Students drew palm and pine trees. I gave a demonstration on how to draw each type of tree.Middle School Art- Students began studying the Middle Ages. I gave a Keynote presentation. Students watched a DVD from the History Channel. Woodward Art March 25-29, 2013

Art II- Students learned about Surrealism. It is art with a dream like quality. They also learned about the artists Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte. They drew a preliminary sketch and painted the background for their painting.Art I- Students drew winter, spring and summer trees. They must put each type of tree in a landscape. Woodward Art March 4-8, 2013

Art I- Students created a series. They transformed an object into something else in a series of five steps. I showed examples of how to do this project.Art II- Students painted an optical illusion. I showed a Keynote presentation and talked about the artist M.C. Woodward Art February 11-15, 2013

Art II- students painted a monochromatic scene on canvas using acrylic paint.Art I- students learned how to paint with color pencils. They drew a mythical creature, something from the Chinese Zodiac and a scene from fantasy art.Middle School Art- students began working on the Ancient Roman Architecture project. This is a technique in graphic design.  They drew a pencil sketch and then made an ink copy.Art II- students continued to learn about more watercolor techniques.
