

4th Language Arts-
Students started class by doing the Daily Language Review activity & writing in their journals. Continued working on Chapter 9. Lesson Objectives: Capitalized proper nouns that named places & things. Capitalized & punctuated abbreviations for titles, addresses, months, & days, & recognized special two-letter abbreviations used for state names with ZIP Codes. Used commas to separate items in a series correctly. Most are catching on! When students finished assignments, they worked on A+.
4th S.S.-
We went over Chapter 6 test. Most did well! Started on Chapter 7 Territorial Days. Lesson Objectives: Explained why the U.S. government made most of the land of present-day Oklahoma a special territory for the Five Civilized Tribes. Identified the Five Civilized Tribes. Described the journey known as the Trail of Tears, & explored the early years of the Five Civilized Tribes in Indian Territory. Explained the American Indians' divided loyalties during the Civil War. Described the Battle at Round Mountain, & explained how the Union victory affected the American Indians' lives. Gave information about the cattle trails in Oklahoma, & described life on the cattle drives. I showed a Discovery Ed. video titled, "Civil War."
